Following a proven framework on trauma informed practice, CBT, and individual psychology, the MAT Program promotes the integration of developmentally delayed (neglect) or disrupted (trauma) sensory, motor, cognitive, & psychological systems by:

  • incorporating psychoeducation & problem solving;

  • stimulating basic body awareness & assertiveness training through active learning;

  • including patterned, repetitive, rhythmic somatosensory activity;

  • using a broad base of martial art skills & drills linked to the concepts being taught, producing pragmatic therapeutic outcomes for young people.

The sessions of the program are tailored in length and frequency to better suit the needs of young people and other supporting programs of the leading agency.
